Summary:In this study, some yield components of forage kochia (Kochia prostrata (L.) Schrad.) with different stem colour was investigated at Bahri Dagdas International Agricultural Research Institute in Konya province of Turkey. In research, red, green-red and green stem kochia were used as the plant materials. Growing seedlings in the greenhouse were planted to research plots at the end of June 2014 with planting spacing of 100 cm x 70 cm. The experiment was Randomized Block Experimental design with four replications. The results showed that the maximum plant diameter as an average of 99.0 cm was measured in green stem forage kochia. The highest fresh forage yield per plant as about 450 g and hay yield as 370 g, and as about 5000 kg/ha, 4090 kg/ha, respectively were obtained from green-red forage kochia. Forage kochia (Kochia prostrata (L.) Schrad is a good alternative plant for the sustainable use of water resources especially in water scant environments of the world.
