Description
Summary:The results are considered of studying inhomogeneities in the thermohaline structure of the Arctic Ocean surface layer from the data of different measurement platforms including North Pole drifting stations and ITP (Ice-Tethered Profiler) autonomous buoys. The characteristics of inhomogeneities in the thermohaline structure and of mechanisms of their transport are presented. Qualitative conclusions concerning the types of eddies revealed from the results of observations are proposed as well as the classification of dynamic systems that transport water masses.
