Summary:Evaluation of heavy metals contamination of the bottom sediments from chosen dam reservoirs was presented in the paper. A Ph reaction and the content of thirteen heavy metals were determined. Obtained values were compared with the ones given by numerous regulations and classifications. A possibility of using bottom sediments for earthworks purposes was also discussed in legal terms. It was stated that the bottom sediments from Czorszty?ski and Rzeszowski Lakes are not a threat to the environment and they can be used as a construction material in earthworks.
