Summary: | the network topology of interconnection networks plays a fundamental role in the performance of computer architecture. The most commonly used network topologies are Mesh, Torus and their extended versions. Various performance parameters such as latency, throughput, and cost can be used to measure the efficiency of a network. In this paper, the aim is to compare four topologies on basis of average latency versus throughput. Keeping in mind the cost and node degree factors we have proposed a modified version of CCTorus namely, Centrally Connected Partial Torus (CCPTorus). We have evaluated these topologies using OMNeT++ at different values of applied load. Simulation results show that CCTorus has better average throughput than Mesh, C2Mesh and CCPTorus. |
