Changes in the lead content of atmospheric aerosols above the Eastern Channel between 1982/83 and 1994

Marine atmospheric aerosols were collected at a site on the French coast of the Strait of Dover in 1982-1983 and 1994 and the lead concentration of the particulate matter was determined. The geometric mean concentrations were 17 ng lead per m3 in 1982-1983 and 8 ng lead per m3 in 1994. Most of the d...

Description
Summary:Marine atmospheric aerosols were collected at a site on the French coast of the Strait of Dover in 1982-1983 and 1994 and the lead concentration of the particulate matter was determined. The geometric mean concentrations were 17 ng lead per m3 in 1982-1983 and 8 ng lead per m3 in 1994. Most of the decrease was accounted for by a decrease in particles of less than 0.33 um in size, which are associated with automotive lead. There are 38 references.
