Synthesis and XPS studies of uranium-bearing Aurivillius-derived layered perovskites

A series of new uranium-bearing layered perovskites with the Aurivillius-derived structures has been studied by X-ray diffraction and photoelectron spectroscopy. The results of both methods are in very good agreement and confirm the structural motifs suggested for these compounds. A new oxyfluoride...

Description
Summary:A series of new uranium-bearing layered perovskites with the Aurivillius-derived structures has been studied by X-ray diffraction and photoelectron spectroscopy. The results of both methods are in very good agreement and confirm the structural motifs suggested for these compounds. A new oxyfluoride Ba2F2UO4 has been prepared and characterized. •Several uranium-bearing layered perovskies have been studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.•Uranium is hexavalent in all these compounds.•A new Aurivillius-like oxyfluoride, Ba2F2UO4, has been prepared.
