Description
Summary:Highlights • In the sublethal TBO concentration and sublethal LED-treated samples; there was a statistically non-significant reduction in csuE , epsA and abaI mRNA expressions. • Sublethal PDT would lead to modulation of the virulence of A. baumannii strains in surviving cells in planktonic growth mode by suppressing the expression of the genes associated with biofilm formation, except blsA at the transcriptional level. • Irradiation of CR-XDR-AB strain in surviving cells with sublethal PDT resulted in reduction of cell metabolic activity, increase in outer membrane permeability, and inhibition of efflux pump systems.
