Preparation of Ta-Doped TiO sub(2) Using Ta sub(2)O sub(5) as the Doping Source
A novel method for preparing Ta-doped TiO sub(2) via using Ta sub(2)O sub(5) as the doping source is proposed. The preparation process combines the hydrothermal fluorination of Ta sub(2)O sub(5) and the subsequent formation of Ta-doped TiO sub(2) sol. The results show that the doped sample annealed...

Summary: | A novel method for preparing Ta-doped TiO sub(2) via using Ta sub(2)O sub(5) as the doping source is proposed. The preparation process combines the hydrothermal fluorination of Ta sub(2)O sub(5) and the subsequent formation of Ta-doped TiO sub(2) sol. The results show that the doped sample annealed at 393K generates an unstable intermediate NH sub(4)TiOF sub(3), which converts into anatase TiO sub(2) with the increase of temperature. After annealing at > or =673K, the Ta-doped TiO sub(2) nanocrystals with the grain size |
