Description
Summary:The results of experimental investigations of the hysteresis of the magnetic-field strength of surface defects in specimens of different steels during their magnetization with a bipolar electromagnet are discussed. An inversion of the position of the magnetic-hysteresis branches of the field of a flaw is obtained as a function of the coercive force of a material. The obtained experimental regularities are explained using a flux model that is based on the concept of the interrelation between the magnetization of the surface layer of a magnetized body and two oppositely directed magnetic fluxes. The model is analyzed using the superposition principle and the dependences of the fluxes on the permeability of materials, the coercive forces of steels, and the demagnetizing factor are taken into consideration.
