Summary: | In this study, we synthesized highly soluble and luminescent poly-oxadiazoles (POD), having phenothiazine and alkyl groups in the side chain. The weight average molecular weight (Mw) of the polymers were 13,000~175,000. These polymers were soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform and THF. The polymers were thermally stable and more than 90% of the polymer remained at 300°C, as measured by thermogravimetry. The polymers show a blue light emission in solution and their fluorescence spectra show peaks at 410 nm, 420 nm and 460 nm. The polymer films show a yellow emission and fluorescence peaks at 410 nm, 430 nm, and 540 nm. Some of the polymers had excellent film formability. Tensile tests showed that the films were soft. |
