Description
Summary:A device for determination of the redox potential of blood plasma and serum was developed. The redox potential is determined by electrochemical measurements of the Pt electrode potential in the tested medium. Measurements are performed in an open circuit. Sixty-three healthy volunteers and 86 patients, with head injury and trans-planted kidneys, as well as resuscitated patients with acute severe injuries, were tested. The obtained results formed a basis for development of diagnostic and prognostic criteria for treatment of such patients.
