Description
Summary:Effect of geometric factor, winding angle and pre-crack angle on quasi-static crushing behavior of filament wound CFRP cylinder was systematically evaluated in details. The cylinder with end reinforcing layer had higher compressive properties and sequentially showed brittle fracturing mode, local buckling mode and transverse shearing mode with winding angles increasing, respectively. Additionally, crack propagation initiated by pre-crack and subsequent failure in the cylinder were strongly dependent of pre-crack angle due to deflection and penetration competition of crack evolution. The simulated and experimental results of loads–displacement curve, crushing load and failure mode were compared to elucidate quasi-static crushing behavior of the cylinder.
