Description
Summary:•The standpipe in flat roof of green building community was designed to alleviate urban waterlogging.•Influence of concrete height, underlying surface and return period on reduction rate of peak discharge and rainwater pipe diameter were studied.•The results can be used to guide practical engineering. Considering the characteristics of frequent occurrence and serious losses, a technology for the standpipe in flat roof of green building community was designed to alleviate the urban waterlogging, and a test was carried out to find out the influence of the concrete height, underlying surface and return period on reduction rate of peak discharge and rainwater pipe diameter. Results showed that the reduction rate of peak discharge increased with the increase of concrete height, and the reduction rate kept constant as 36.98% when the concrete height was 5cm or more. The reduction rate of peak discharge increased with the increase of roof area proportion, while the reduction rate of peak discharge decreased with the increase of return period. At the same time, these results can be used to guide practical engineering.
