Summary: | This paper proposed a novel test equipment for a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) synchronous motor with superconducting armature coils. The superconducting armature coils are adopted to transport the ac current in the consideration of alternating magnetic field, and the superconducting coils need to be tested before installing them in the HTS motor. The novel test equipment adopts the ferromagnetic material as the skeleton of superconducting coils. When the ac current flows in the superconducting coils, the ferromagnetic skeleton attracts a large part of the magnetic field produced by the coils, and a small part of the magnetic field would influence the superconducting coils. Through the finite-element tool, the ferromagnetic skeleton's structure parameters can be optimized to let the magnetic field around the superconducting coils in the test equipment be equal to the magnetic field in the HTS motor. The simulation result and the test equipment's measure result prove that the equipment can imitate the magnetic field around the HTS armature coils. |
