Summary: | Hydro‐ and steam‐distilled volatile oils from the leaves and flowers of Lantana camara L. were analysed by a combination of GC and GC–MS. Forty‐four components in the hydrodistilled oil and 25 components in the steam‐distilled oil were identified. The main constituents characterized were sabinene (16.5% and 7.3%), β‐caryophyllene (14.0% and 22.5%), 1,8‐cineole (10.0% and 6.0%), bicyclogermacrene (8.1% and 18.4%) and α‐humulene (6.0% and 10.8%) in the hydro‐ and steam‐distilled oils, respectively.
