Description
Summary:Low degradability of synthetic polymers, has generated major environmental problems in Colombia and worldwide because they remain in nature for many years, this is caused by low self-decomposition, In this sense, the objective of this research was the preparation and characterization of a bioplastic, resulting from mixing potato starch with low density polyethylene, to obtain a compound material by the injection process. Initially a physical mixture of potato starch polymer with low density polyethylene in percentages from 5 to 30% starch and additives was done, the injection parameters of the process were determined experimentally. The physicochemical properties of the polymers injected were evaluated by Differential scanning calorimetry - DSC, Scanning electron microscopy- SEM, stress tests, carried out in the laboratories Incitema of UPTC university and SENA.
