Observed mass motions in limb prominences

Line shifts occurring on Fabry-Perot interferograms of four limb prominences obtained at Boyden Observatory are reported and analyzed in terms of mass motions of the emitting parts of the prominences. The contribution of these motions to the energy balance of prominences is discussed.
