Summary:The nanorod-like alpha -Bi sub(2)O sub(3) have been synthesized from the microrod-like alpha -Bi sub(2)O sub(3) using g-C sub(3)N sub(4) as a template. The photocatalytic activity of alpha -Bi sub(2)O sub(3) is highly improved by nearly 800% in the oxidation of the gaseous IPA (isopropyl alcohol). The formation mechanism of the nanorod-like alpha -Bi sub(2)O sub(3) was further studied, and demonstrated to be the CO sub(2) corrosion effects.
