Description
Summary:It is well known that obesity (O) is one of the risk factors for arterial hypertension (HT). Causes of Obesity include increased nutrition (IN), physical non-activity (PnA), IN + PnA together, or other unknown causes. The aim of this study was to establish which of these causes was most often found in our patients (pts) with HT. We used prospective epidemiological methods and descriptive and analytical technique. Of 81 pts. in 45 (55.5%) the cause was IN + PNA, in 18 (22.3%) just IN, and in 3 (3.7%) just PNA. PNA was present in 48 (59.2%) pts. This supports the importance of physical activity as a therapeutic measure for the prevention of hypertension.
