Description
Summary:Computational modeling of the stimulating field distribution during Deep Brain Stimulation provides an opportunity to advance our knowledge of this neurosurgical therapy for Parkinson's disease. There exist several approaches to model the target region for Deep Brain Stimulation in Hemi-parkinson Rats with volume conductor models. We have described and compared the normalized mapping approach as well as the modeling with three-dimensional structures, which include curvilinear coordinates to assure an anatomically realistic conductivity tensor orientation.
