Description
Summary:Xerostomia is a frequent complaint and a real handicap for many patients, often drug-induced. Treatments, even if they are currently unsatisfactory, are aimed at improved oral comfort and quality of life for patients, and to prevent or treat local complications. It consists in humecting buccal mucous membranes with artificial saliva; or in stimulating the glands if functional salivary tissue still exists.
