Summary: | ABSTRACT
A novel shape of split ring resonator (SRR) is designed and analyzed. About 13.06 % of miniaturization is achieved in comparison to conventional SRR with same conditions. A unit cell of proposed metamaterial is designed and analyzed which shows double negative (DNG) characteristics. Further, proposed structure is embedded as a slot in the ground plane underneath the microstrip line for analyzing its complementary effects. This arrangement shows notch band characteristics at resonant frequency of proposed unit cell. Simulated characteristics are verified with experimental results of fabricated prototypes. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
