Summary:Au sub(137)(SR) sub(56), a nanomolecule with a precise number of metal atoms and ligands, was synthesized. The composition was confirmed by MALDI and ESI mass spectrometry using three unique ligands (-SCH sub(2)CH sub(2)Ph, -SC sub(6)H sub(13), and -SC sub(4)H sub(9)) and nano-alloys with Ag and Pd. The electrocatalytic properties were tested for CO sub(2) reduction.
