Summary:Abstract A 55-year-old man with syncopal episodes was found to have sinus bradycardia at a rate of 37 beats per minute, an episode of nonsustained ventricular tachycardia, and left ventricular noncompaction cardiomyopathy. Following placement of a dual chamber cardioverter defibrillator four years ago, he has had no further syncopal episodes, and there have been no defibrillator shocks.
