Furthermore, the conce pt that CAKUT (Co ngenital Anomaly of the Kidney and Urinary Tract) represents a spectrum of renal tract anomalies has given rise to embryonic development studies that have shown that lateral ureteral budding, also called displacement, is associated with ureteric reflux, some degree of ureteric dysplasia and reduced induction of kidney development resulting in renal dysplasia or hypoplasia. |
