Three-dimensional controls on subsidence of a foreland basin associated with a thrust-belt recess: Black Warrior basin, Alabama and Mississippi
Tectonic transport from different directions and convergence of separate thrust belts at structural recesses impart three-dimensional variations to the pattern of foreland-basin subsidence. This action in the Black Warrior foreland basin in Alabama and Mississippi is discussed.
