Summary: | On 28 April 2006 in Ohio and again on 19 May 2006 in North Carolina, I observed and, on the April occasion, recorded a Yellow-throated Warbler (Dendroica dominica) singing a type B song. A sound spectrogram of this rare song is compared with the more common type A song of this species. I present evidence that my recording is a type B song and speculate on the rare condition and function of this song. |
