Summary: | Neonatal, ichthyosiform erythroderma is rare and may be associated with primarily cutaneous disorders as well as with a broad spectrum of potentially severe underlying diseases. Neonatal erythroderma represents a pediatric dermatological emergency requiring a swift diagnosis and effective, interdisciplinary management. This review summarizes both primary skin diseases and systemic illnesses that are known to elicit erythroderma in neonates and young infants. |
