Summary:This article demonstrates the application of EcoDesign techniques in the re-design of a fish tank air compressor. This application aims the reduction of components, the minimization of raw materials and the manufacture processes and tends as main focus the minimization of environmental impact in the development of new products. This air compressor was awarded the first prize in the Product Project category in the ECODESIGN Award – FIESP/CIESP 2004.
