Summary: | Koletex - composite medical textile - represents a wide set of therapeutic bandages on a textile base. The medical efficacy of these bandages is determined by (i) the special structure of the base material, which comprises a bimodal (micro- and macro-) system of pores, (ii) a special composition based on a natural biopolymer (sodium alginate, collagen, chitosan, etc.), and (iii) special textile technology (imprinting, dressing) of composite formation. As a result, the material forms a twofold depot from which active substances are supplied via the skin (interphase transdermal drug transfer model) to a wound or tumor. A methodological approach to the choice of textile base, biopolymers, immobilized drugs, and technological conditions for the production of koletex bandages of various types depending on their proposed usage is described. |
