In the literature, similarly, hand infections associated with clenched fist syndrome have been reported.1 Second, we highlight the role of a multidisciplinary approach in the prompt management of relevant cases whereby the clinical scenario would otherwise be quite challenging.2 In this regard, of paramount importance in the diagnoses would be to distinguish these patients from other likely musculoskeletal conditions (e.g., complex regional pain syndrome)3 and also to differentiate among malingering, factitious disorder, and hypochondriasis.
