Description
Summary:Eulimnadia marplesi n. sp. is described from material from a temporary pond near Sutton, South Island, New Zealand. While placement in the genus Eulimnadia is tentative and based on the presence of a spine on the ventroposterior angle of the telson, the species is distinctive based on rostral shape, spination of the claspers, and, to a lesser extent, on the number of telsonic denticles and caudal furca setules. The cyst surface is unique with areted walls of deep vesicles extruded into tongue-like lamellae.
