Summary: | Several studies investigating the pelagic system off the West African Coast are detailed. Generally, in the areas of the Moroccan and Mauritanian EEZ, the variability of the nutrient elds adequately reects the principal patterns of the water dynamics and correlates with the surface temperature, salinity, and oxygen distribution. The combined analysis of these parameters allows one to describe the coastal upwelling according to the intensity in the investigated area and period as a phenomenon of moderate intensity. |
