Description
Summary:The paper describes the analysis of time series data for the derivation of ice loads on the Confederation Bridge piers. Ice loads are determined from bridge structural response, and thus the measured response data require considerable processing to provide the desired output. The relevant characteristics of the instrumentation and recording systems are described as necessary background to the analysis. A number of different approaches are discussed, leading to the approach that satisfies certain criteria for the resulting load-time trace.
