Description
Summary:Highlights • The impact of resident involvement on patient outcomes in foot and ankle surgery is unknown. • A total of 13,685 cases were analyzed for 24 common foot and ankle surgeries. In these, resident cases had increased total morbidity, medical complications, and surgical complications, but similar mortality rates. • On multivariable analyses, resident involvement was associated with increases in medical complications and length of stay, but had no impact on mortality, overall morbidity, or surgical complications.
