Description
Summary:Gas exchange rates between natural waters and the atmosphere in the Parker River estuary, MA, was measured using sulfur hexafluoride as a tracer. Measurements revealed that gas exchange rates are affected by windspeeds and gas concentration. Calculations for the gas exchange coefficient (k) obtained a value of 1.1 to 6.2 cm.h(super -1). The value of k was directly related to wind velocity.
