Summary:We have been constructing a system to measure the rates of photosynthesis/respiration and the steady state levels and the ms order transients of fluorescence/PSI in small leaves in the laboratory. Because two separate chambers are attached to the adaxial and abaxial surfaces, the system enables us to measure gas exchange characteristics of the adaxial and abaxial surfaces simultaneously. Some data obtained with this system will be presented.
