Summary:[...] a project scheduled for completion in November 2008 will, among other things, remove corroded pipe that renders water undrinkable, update computer connections because the old ones are susceptible to fire-which destroyed the first two Oregon statehouses-install energy efficient lighting, update elevators, replace carpet and furniture, and upgrade fire alarms and suppression systems. The renovation included a strengthened foundation; handicap access, high-speed, wireless computer networks, improved security, energy-efficient heating and air conditioning, plumbing and storm water systems.
