Summary: | Bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP) is a lung disease characterized pathologically by the presence of granulation tissue polyps within brochioles in association with patchy areas of organizing pneumonia, consisting of mononuclear cells and foamy macrophages in the surrounding lung. The appearance of BOOP on chest radiographs is non-specific. Patchy, non-segmental areas of airspace consolidation are often seen. The case of a 54 year old patient, diagnosed of BOOP, with a 1-month history of non-productive cough and dyspnea is presented. |
