This study demonstrates the first synthesis of cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene (cAAC) adducts of Hg( ii ), [cAAC Me ·HgBr(μ-Br)] 2 ( 1a ) and [cAAC cy ·HgBr(μ-Br)] 2 ( 1b ).
