Photoinduced Electron Transfer from a Porphyrin to an Electron Acceptor in an Antibody-Combining Site
Monoclonal antibodies for supramolecules: A series of phosphorus(V) porphyrins with axial ligands were prepared. One of the antibodies, 74D7A, recognizes not only the porphyrin (electron donor) but also an acceptor molecule (terephthalic acid) with high selectivity. This antibody binds both porphyri...

Summary: | Monoclonal antibodies for supramolecules: A series of phosphorus(V) porphyrins with axial ligands were prepared. One of the antibodies, 74D7A, recognizes not only the porphyrin (electron donor) but also an acceptor molecule (terephthalic acid) with high selectivity. This antibody binds both porphyrin and an electon acceptor simultaneously in a combining site (as shown in the picture) and thereby facilitates the electron transfer from the porphyrin to the acceptor. |
