Summary:Amazunculus is an exclusively Neotropical genus which occurs mostly in the Amazon biome. They are large bodied Pipunculidae, easily identified by their flattened hind tarsus and curved dm-cu wing vein. Described here are Amazunculus cordigaster n. sp., A. deargentatus n. sp. and A. duckei n. sp., whose diagnoses are based mosdy on male genitalia characteristics. An identification key to the six species of Amazunculus is provided.
