Summary:That water resources are currently under severe stress in parts of Africa, the Middle East and southern and eastern Asia might appear a powerful argument for moves towards a more coordinated and more viable system of governance for water, both internationally and nationally. Acceleration of the future demand towards the limit of the available water resource will intensify these stresses and extend them further.
