Summary: | The adsorption studies of 4-chlorophenol from aqueous solution on activated carbon derived from rattan sawdust (RSAC) have been analyzed in the range of 25–200 mg/L initial 4-chlorophenol concentrations and at temperature 28°C. Different experimental parameters like initial pH, contact time and initial concentration on the adsorption of 4-chlorophenol were evaluated. Langmuir, Freundlich, Redlich–Peterson, Temkin and Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherm models were used to illustrate the experimental isotherms and isotherms constants. Equilibrium data fitted very well with the Langmuir isotherm model. The rates of adsorption were found to obey the rules of pseudosecond order model with good correlation. Results of the intra-particle diffusion model show that the pore diffusion is not the only rate limiting step. |
