Description
Summary:Key Points Highlights that increasing rates of overweight and obese children are a public health concern. Shows that specialists in paediatric dentistry (SPDs) are supportive of opportune screening for body mass index (BMI) during consultations, in order to identify children who are underweight, overweight or obese. Indicates that, at present, few SPDs routinely measure height, weight or BMI, in part due to lack of knowledge of interpretation of results, and a lack of local guidance. Therefore, further training and development of local protocol is needed.
