Description
Summary:A simple radiographic procedure was developed for observing the shape and position of liquid boundaries inside a low-porosity compact medium at the impregnation stage. Tests were performed using purified dried sample of sandstone taken from the Mortym'ya-Teterevskoe deposit. During impregnation of dry sample, the position of the liquid was determined by capillary effects. The correction due to gravity forces was 10-20%. The state of equilibrium was attained within about 24 h. After attainment of equilibrium, a gradual decrease in the average concentration of each of the components from 100% to 0 along the entire sample was observed. These results indicate that the radiographic procedure can be used for measurements and accurate diagnostics of fluid flows in models of an oil collector.
