Summary: | Right now, the overwhelming evidence and scientific opinion is that global warming is a fact. World scientists believe that if emissions of greenhouse gases are not cut, the global climate will be disrupted, causing floods, droughts and severe heat waves, putting health and safety at risk. There is already concern that human activities are disrupting the global climate. First and most important: far-sighted technology programs that target emissions reductions are key. Second, capital incentives must be considered part of climate change strategy to reduce emissions. Third, there may well be regions, workers and industries hurt by the economic shifts that climate policy may produce. |
