Summary: | A comparative study of a conventional pulse oximeter (Nellcor N-3000 with OXISMART technology) and Masimo SET pulse oximetry was carried out in adults during induced hypoxemia while performing fixed and random motions. % SpO sub(2) from both oximeters were compared against the % SaO sub(2) of arterial blood drawn during stabile intervals of generated motion. The Masimo SET and Nellcor pulse rate was compared to the derived heart rate of an ECG monitor. The results show that Masimo SET pulse oximetry is accurate during patient motion and low perfusion. |
