Description
Summary:Maple Moon, the native name for the time of the sap run, is a story about the discovery of maple syrup. Crook has integrated elements from existing legends into a new, wonderful tale that will be enjoyed by young and old, especially around sugaring time. Rides the Wind, a crippled eight-year-old boy, is a Tiny Tim-like hero who struggles against his handicap to win the admiration of his father and the elders of the tribe. He is a plucky but lonely boy, who, off by himself in the forest, observes a red squirrel drinking liquid from an old maple tree.
