Stability and motion in two degree of freedom hamiltonian systems for three-to-one commensurability

The stability of the origin and periodic orbits of autonomous Hamiltonian systems in which the Hamiltonian is indefinite and the relation between the frequencies ωP 1 and ω 2 of the linearized system is ω 1≈ 3ω 2 are investigated using the two time variable method. Bounds on the non-periodic motions...

Description
Summary:The stability of the origin and periodic orbits of autonomous Hamiltonian systems in which the Hamiltonian is indefinite and the relation between the frequencies ωP 1 and ω 2 of the linearized system is ω 1≈ 3ω 2 are investigated using the two time variable method. Bounds on the non-periodic motions about the equilibrium point are also obtained.
